Frontieras’ patented Solid Carbon Fractionation™ (SCF) process deconstructs long-chain hydrocarbons to various gases, liquids and solids.

Frontieras’ FASForm utilizes a closed loop, zero-waste model that positions Frontieras as a leader in the future of coal solutions.

Specifically, SCF liberates high value liquids and gases from solid carbonaceous materials such as coal, lignite, oil sands and waste plastics while producing a purified solid carbon product known as FASCarbon™.

Inherent environmental benefits of Frontieras’ SCF include:

  • SCF is less polluting than conventional gasification and liquefaction technologies (CTL).

  • SCF significantly reduces CO2 and sulfur emissions, and is economically viable compared to carbon sequestration and capture/re-use technologies.

  • Removal of nearly all sulfur, mercury, and arsenic, as well as moisture, which upgrades the thermal value of FASCarbon in comparison to conventional coking coal.

  • FASCarbon™ is a next-generation smokeless fuel that when used as a thermal fuel in coal plants, or industrial uses improves emissions.
